National Minimum & Living Wage 2022

It has been announced that there will be an increase to national minimum wage rates, including that of the National Living Wage, from 1st April 2022.

The new hourly rates will be:
National Living Wage (workers aged 23 and above): £9.50
21-22 year olds: £9.18
18 – 20 year olds: £6.83
16 – 17 year olds: £4.81
Apprentice rate: £4.81

The current rates are:
National Living Wage (workers aged 23 and above): £8.91
21-22 year olds: £8.36
18 – 20 year olds: £6.56
16 – 17 year olds: £4.62
Apprentice rate: £4.30

It’s important that employers are aware of the forthcoming changes and effectively plan for them to ensure compliance in their organisation.
