It may be the season for peace on earth and goodwill to all, but unfortunately this won’t be the case amongst all employees.
Not everyone in a workplace will get along, this is the case whether employees are working remotely or attending the physical workplace. Whilst it can be tempting if you are a busy manager just to leave employees to it, if some are at odds with each other not only can this have a negative effect on those involved but it can spill over to create an unpleasant working environment for colleagues and in some cases cause difficulties for the organisation.
If workplace conflict is spotted and addressed at an early stage it can make it easier to deal with. Often, the first step to resolving the situation (and getting your Christmas wish of a peaceful workplace!) is to have a conversation individually with those involved to try to ascertain the cause of the problem.
