Health and Safety Myth
A Chef at a carvery restaurant refused to serve the customer some skin off the turkey on the grounds of health and safety. The Chef stated it was a ‘choking hazard’.
This is not a real health and safety issue but just an excuse. Whilst all chefs have a duty to consider the health and safety of their customers, when making this decision an assumption has been made that the customer has no common sense. The response was completely disproportionate.
