As part of promoting and supporting positive mental health in the workplace you might wish to consider giving ‘Wellbeing Days’ as an employee benefit. This could be a whole or part day or number of days leave that employees can use to look after their wellbeing.

Whilst employees are entitled to holiday and to take time off work if they are unwell, providing specific Wellbeing Days can support employees in taking pro-active steps to benefit their health. As modern life is hectic it can be difficult for employees to find the time they need to look after their wellbeing or to take some time out when they feel their mental health would benefit from it. In some cases, Wellbeing Days may help to reduce sickness absence in the long run by preventing issues from developing or escalating.

If you are interested in introducing Wellbeing Days or you have any employment law matters you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact Kingfisher Professional Services Ltd as we are happy to help.
